Sermon Title: Let's Go!
Theme: In these passages we are reminded that sometimes we are called by Christ to go and serve Him, leaving behind family and belongings. This is not always easy, but our willingness to follow Him no matter what speaks volumes to our commitment in serving Him.
February 14
Scripture: Mark 15: 38-39; 2 Corinthians 3: 12--4:2
Sermon Title: Can You See Now?
Theme: As we get older, cataracts may develop on our eyes keeping us from seeing things clearly. Sin in our life can do the same by clouding our judgment. Our scripture for today reminds us that as Christians, holding on to the truth will help us to see clearly and understand clearly what the scriptures and Holy Spirit are saying to us.
February 21 First Sunday Lent
Scripture: Hebrews 6: 13-18; Psalm 91
Sermon Title: Lord, I cannot handle one more trial.
Theme: Have you had a day or series of days that life kept throwing stuff at you? Our passage for today reminds us that when we experience these days, we can find comfort and strength knowing that we can "live in the shelter of the Most High", our Heavenly Father and Christ our Savior.
February 28 Second Sunday of Lent
Scripture: Philippians 3: 17--4:1; 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14
Sermon Title: From Whom do you receive strength?
Theme: When we become a Christian, we remain in our earthly body and reside here on earth, but our citizenship resides in heaven with Christ and other saints gone before us. Knowing this can give us comfort and the assurance that God will give us the strength to remain steadfast and firm in our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
March 7 Third Sunday of Lent
Scripture: Psalm 63: 1-8; 1 Corinthia
Sermon Title: Our Father's Example”
Theme: Life is full of obstacles and we have to be careful not to fall into traps set out for us by the world and Satan. We all look up to our earthly father for advice and guidance. We should also look to our Heavenly Father for advice that will not lead us astray.
March 14 Fourth Sunday of Lent
Scripture: Joshua 5: 5-12; Luke 15: 1-10
Sermon Title: Are You Lost?
Theme: The wilderness journey for the Israelites was very harsh on them. They fought temptation and ignored God's word to them spoken through Moses. We too often want to go our own way ignoring what God may be saying to us and what we know is right. In Luke we are told that our Great Shepherd will come looking for His lost sheep. Are you lost? If so, Jesus died on the cross making a way for you to come home.
March 21 Fifth Sunday of Lent
Scripture: Isaiah 43: 15-21; Philippians 2: 4-16
Sermon Title: Confession Time
Theme: The song, "God will make a way, where there seems to be no way..." is a good reminder that when we may be experiencing a tough time in life or think that no one cares, God cares. He cared so much that He gave us His only Son who went to the cross for us. It is through His name that is above all names that we can confess our sins to and receive His amazing grace.
